OK, sitting here routinely checking out this excellent website, as I do for the good of my soul and brain regularly throughout the week (take a bow, Mr Heath) AND….

I nearly FALL OFF MY CHAIR with excitement.

YES YES YES YES YES.

OH YES!

When was I last this thrilled?

Was it when I met that first Apple LCII back in 92 and experienced the AHA moment of seeing the “trash” (OK, I was in Palo Alto at the time) EMPTY ITSELF and then settle down with the most beguiling little “clunk” in the world?

Instantly smitten by the vision of a new dimension. It gets all of us, one way or another.

And now this…

It’s not just the film (lest you thought it was). It’s the PROJECT. It’s the determination to make it happen. And then to go ahead and ORGANISE and MODEL it and say: “Let’s do this thing, let’s make it ART.”

At last, the point! Someone is getting the point.

Ohhh. I am so happy.

And I and a million others are watching. Very, very carefully…and smiling big, big smiles.

Update: It’s very good. Much funnier than it might be – often laugh out loud funny. There’s a wonderful moment when Ivo sees Ed Miliband hoist himself on his own petard. The editing is excellent. There’s Clay Shirkey, Leadbeater, Don “chips in yer underpants” Tapscott, Sophia Parker, Ebbsfleet Utd (wonderful scenes) and others.

Anyway, I didnt get to ask Ivo about this but it seems the RSA movies often end up on C4 or More4, so doubtless it will be coming to a TV near you via Freesat soon!

Richard – I’m sure they’re dying to have it on free to air TV…I think these events are previews or launches or whatever. Ive no idea what arrangements there are for distribution. More anon I hope!

Good project, but strange that a film about “popular participation via the Internet” is apparently to be shown only to “the elite” and only at tiny screenings in London.

I do hope that it will be made freely available via the Internet and on “free to view” TV channels.
