I’ve bunked off work (because there’s too much to do) and gone to the Skoll World Form on Social Entrepreneurship at Said Business School in Oxford (see the official blog here) . It’s got that open-hearted fresh-faced vibe with lots of nice Americans (also Estonians, Australians and people from the Indian subcontinent) introducing themselves just with first names.

Oddly enough the world of social entrepreneurship matches exactly on what we know and love at Ideal Government. Whether people are helping with HIV/Aids, malaria or farming productivity we repeatedly come back to the relationship with corporations, government and technology. There’s a shrewd backbone of bankers here tho’ giving this community a backbone of commercial realism that strikes me as generally absent in the all-to-disconnected world of government IT.
