Did you all enjoy the Council of Europe’s data protection day on 28th? I’m still recovering. As ever, the Germans have the best and most concise slogan (to go with earlier clasics like Vorsprung durch Technik, Atomkraft? Nein danke and Kabelsalat ist gesund)

Meanwhile the best efforts of the Academie Francaise means the French have to use seven words to express what Germans can in three:

I wonder how the UK government expresses the same sentiment in English? But wait! Among the 26 flags of nations supporting EU data protection day there seems to be one missing! Who could that be?* thx C

I celebrated by finally finding the PDF of my last year’s SA Tax form – after searching 12 hard drives and three PCs containing a couple of TBytes of data; umpteen DVDs and CDs: For some reason, my “personal” tax form was hidden with the company’s VAT files.

WIBBI: The HMRC online service allowed us to download a copy of our previous Tax form.
