Stand by for a torrent of spin as the D’oh! promises a “robust” public information barrage, according to KableNet.
Meanwhile my own GP the most excellent Dr W. rang this morning. He quite shares my concerns about centralised health records, he’s wary of D’oh! IT projects, and got four other opt-out letters today, he says. He knows of at least one practice which is applying the opt out Read code across the board, but he thinks that’s the wrong approach. So he fully respects my concerns, shares them, and putting that on my notes won’t in any way affect his ability to deliver care, he feels.
If government messes with relationships between people and their trusted local professionals it’ll always get screwed. No amount of spin can change that outcome. But I fear it won’t stop them trying.
