It’s 2026 and Jack and Jill are in the middle of an ugly divorce.
Jack wants to “get the goods” on his ex-wife. What’s the first thing he does?

Jack calls my solicitor. He can recommend a dare I say it reputable PI.

I suspect the situation in 20 years time will be relatively stable and Jack won’t have any ‘dirty tricks’ options available to him. There are commercial and technological solutions already evolving which will better protect individual privacy, and by that time legislation can be expected to have caught up with the connected world.

HOWEVER – that is in 20 years time, i’d be much more concerned about the next 3 to 5 years from now, i.e. the period when invasive practices are increasingly enabled – yet the tools and laws that counter them are not yet fully in place.
