What’s it like being a Home Office Minister? We don’t know what really goes on in the servants’ quarters. Perhaps we used to imagine it like Yes Minister. But now thanks to Armando Ianucci we start to imagine is like The thick of it.

It’s compelling, harsh and hilarious – and it shows unadulterated spin and enforcement – the very antithesis of ideal government. Anything would be better.

Until we learn different, that’s what we’ll imagine it’s like for real.
